    Long term polo GTI ownership

    Hi guys
Just wondering what people think about long term ownership of GTI..I have got it on 4 yr lease and done 2 yrs and 2 months with 60000kms..I have got 3 year extended warranty as well..but all these oil consumption issues and recall etc, just bit anxious if I can keep it for long..also read a lot of negative things about 7sp dry DSG and 1.4twincharger..I might need a second bigger car in 1-2 years and was thinking of paying this off and keeping it..

are there any owners thinking of keeping it for 5 or 5+ years..I do about 25k a year..usually I get bored and change cars every 2 years but this is my first turbo and first VW and so far loving it..

    thanks

i am thinking along the same lines,

but i have not had any issues with mine,
i did try and trade my car in at 1 year 30 000 KM's they gave me a very low number so i ended up keeping it and 2 years + down the track will keep it and do it up.
officer i promise its a stock car.... look my windows are not even tinted.

    You have extended warranty.

You haven't had any problems with the car in over 60,000kms.

You are worried because your reading the 'bad' reports, remember 100 unhappy customers will post on forums etc before 1 happy customer.

Stop being a follower, if you like the car which you say you do, keep it and be done with it.

well I felt I was lucky until 45k but after that, until today at 60k it has asked me for oil every 2-2.5k and thats the reason I am loosing confidence..

Theres a TSB out for a modified breather in regards to the oil issue, if that doesn't fix it then there another one for optimized pistons and rings, I advise you to go see your local dealer.
