I have the same spoiler, but have the regular (non-gps) antenna. Not having any clearance issues here, although mine was also painted poorly.
Depending on where it hits the spoiler, you could try a shorter antenna?
Hello,
Just enquiring about the rear spoiler. I have the 2012 Polo and I ordered the bigger Vdub rear wing for it also, just for aesthetic purposes...even though there was some other issues with this rear wing ( Like the colour match is just a bit wrong) thats not worrying me as much as the main issue with it.
It seems when this new model came out they also altered the antenna which kinda looks like a shark fin with a stick coming out of it.
With my VW genuine rear spoiler part/accessory you'll open the hatch and it hits and push's the antenna, this was fine until i started to notice its putting rub marks on the spoiler, so it looks like its got some mini GT stripe.
What i would like to find out is anyone else who got the optioned up Spoiler having this same issue and did they end up contacting VW if there is an alternative Antenna to accommodate bluetooth and all that lovely stuff?
Other then this which isn't much honestly, I love this car (Schultz) to bits, has a bit of character which is odd in a new car. Just the fact that the little 1.2lt petrol engine can just effortlessly blast over the hills at 110km/hr. This car was most certainly more than i expected and i had high expectations after waiting 3 and a half months for it![]()

I would be dealing with VW on this one, if it's a genuine accessory then they should know about the issue.

I must say it is a touch disappointing that they can't even just send out paint samples so that the Local Panel Beater can accurately match the paint, can't do an exact match when one work shop uses Du Pont and the factory in South Africa uses a brand that we may not even be able to obtain and although someone might be able to get it close, in different lights it will look wrong as the tinters are not exactly spot on from Brand to Brand.
The arial has rubbed a line straight up the middle of the spoiler ( I should add photo's when i get a chance ) so even if i did a bit of hacking so to speak it would still hit, but it also begs the next question why in Australia are they putting the GPS Arial on all Polo's as standard when they don't have a GPS, such as myself. more worried about the damage its causing.
Think I will have to get on the blower before it does more damage like you've suggested (Thanks!), and hopefully they can tee me up with a different arial, even if it was a problem they overlooked and see what they have to say.
PoloDave, i'd be getting in contact with the dealer you bought the car off and telling them to try again, you paid extra for options that they like to push customers to buy, its only fair that they do a good job of it. Mine has a nice paint run mark right along the edge of it and as i'm short its right at my eye level hahah oh welllllllll![]()
problem with mine is, I had it installed in the winter season so not that much sun. When the sun came out 3 weeks later you can see that they did not apply the paint thick enough on 1 area on the side of the spoiler so it's a lichter colour. The spoiler is on for a couple of months now so it's too late to go back anyway I think.
Hope yours gets sorted!
