    Exclamation Led interior light issue?

Installed these into the cabin of the GTI about a week and a half ago into the three front lights.

Philips X-treme Vision LED W5W T10 6000k (Twin Pack) | Car Bulbs Direct

They where working great. Heaps of light and no bulb error.
But today the started to not turn off fully. They would fade out but then have just a slight glow.
If you turn the lights to fully off they go out all the way but when there on the door function the stay slightly lit.

Any ideas? These are the only lights I've changed on the car.

It appears to be an issue with LED's and the dimming circuit in these cars. I have blue ambient neons inside and outside the car and every stick remains permanently on regardless of light setting (by on I mean 2 LEDs on each of the 3, 11 LED sticks remain very dimly lit) I think it has to do with the dimming relay leaking a very small amount of voltage. The problem with LEDs is that they can light up with this small amount unlike normal filament globes.

Having said that I have never had a problem with my Philips globes, only ever my neons so it could be your circuit leaks more than mine or my configuration is different. Mine does however flicker if I leave them on the ON position and lock the car. The relay goes to time out and then makes the LEDs pulsate...ahh the joys of electronics...

I had the same issue until I installed some can-bus error-free bulbs in. In the end, I only needed one.
It took me some time to play around with it, and what I found was that I could leave one halagen bulb in (middle front) and all of the other LEDs would go off-off.

I replaced the middle one with a stock one and it all went off. The relay went nuts and the back wouldn't work. I have the festoons for the rear coming so ill make them all led with just one stock globe. ATM it's 3 led, 3 stock.

car went haywire yesterday. relays ticking constantly no rear interior lights at all and the front keeped flickering. i changed all the globes back to stock but still didnt stop it. turns out the park light fuse went and is linked some how to the interior curcuit. replaced the fuse and it all went back to normal. i then placed the led's back in and the worked fine and turned of fully this time. will see how long it lasts.

Yeah the fuses in the car can be a bit awkward. I created a short on the low beam circuit at the front and no interior light, switch or gauge worked...except the low beam which was the one I shorted?!?!?

Boot light still worked but I had a led in there which I've now removed.
