My thought is that they are a waste of money seeing that you can only legally use them in "FOG"
Am sick of being blinded by people with really bright flared "Wanker lights"
Looking to install foglights into my base model polo, i found this kit on Oriental Parts
LED Powered Front Fog Light Kit - Polo 6R - Oriental Parts
What are your thoughts, and also is this install simple to do or should i get it done somewhere ??

I could be wrong to think this but do you want to use these as DRL (daytime running lights) or do you seriously want LED fog lights.
Keeping it simple: halogen bulbs offer much better light on the road compared to standalone LED’s. (The only exception is a high powered LED in a projector housing).
If you wanted DRL there are cheaper alternatives out there.

Ok so if you are using them as DRL they are fine, it's completely legal. DRL have to be under 1200 lumens (I'm pretty sure) where as standard halogen bulbs can be upwards of 1500. I would not worry about police picking you up for that. I have seen many cars that change the foglight bulb to LED and make the light stay on permanently to meet the european DRL regualtion (most volvo car and the skoda fabia RS)
To set these up, I would just tap a wire from your parking lights in the headlight and bring it down. I would assume these are not pulling more than 20watt so you will be fine so long as you take out the w5w bulb in the acuall headlight.
Through vcds you just change the setting to have parking lights allways on with terminal 15. This will make it so your parkers are on in every position of the light switch as soon as the ignition is turned on.
Personally I would do this differently, I would get proper halogen foglights (which oriential parts also sell, and I bought) and use them as actual foglights as their real function is quite useful in the fog, and I would get the headlights from VW which have the DRL built in (which I also have) which are of much better quality.
Thanks alot ! im now wondering maybe it is better if i just get headlights with DRL built in like from kufatec OR should or can i just change the current DRL globe which is quite yellow and replace it with a xenon bulb such as this

Yeah if you wanted to you could just change the bulb, it's a standard w5w bulb so there are many replacements. I used to use Philips LED parkers in my original headlight before i changed them. They are 1 watt LED's so these are one of the brightest you can get, but it comes at a price.

This is where I bought mine from last time, the cheapest you will find as well, also free postage.
Because you don't have a mfd in your car any change of bulbs will not throw up an error.
