Picked up my polo from the dealer aparently the company that details the car and fills up the petrol, fills up with shell (not sure what type of fuel they used). 20th of July Drove from south Yarra to Ballarat also with drives to dayelsford, majority of driving round town. filled up yesterday 28th at BP $62.00 for 39.77 litres for about 600km. Still had 35 km to go (2 small bars) Filled up with ultimate - already the mfd is telling me 50kms driven so far, 700km range. We shall see how this goes. Pretty happy with Bp but time will tell. Will keep you posted.

I use the iPhone app Mileage to keep track of my fuelcost and average mileage. It's very simpel and easy to use.

Last time i refuelled my Polo BlueMotion 1.2 TDI I got:

    837 km. using 37.93 litre = 22.07 km/l. or 4.53 l/100 km.

I aim to get my numbers up to around 25 km/l, as I improve my eco driving skills. Just got the car...

It's the one by Piet Jonas, here in Denmark it costs 2 USD, but it's well worth it.

I have used this one for a long time:
AccuFuel for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on the iTunes App Store

Although I am switching to Fuelly instead:
Fuelly | Share and Compare Your MPG

Fuelly allows you to share you information and compare (it also has the groovy little buttons you see in my sig ). It doesn't have an "App" as such, rather a web app that you can enter your details through which is OK (sucks for reading, but great for entering). You can see through the website there is lots of extra info you don't otherwise get, like total KM travelled, cost per KM etc etc.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit

I'm using the iPhone app Road Trip. I'm not familiar with the other apps/sites listed here, but for $5 I think Road Trip is great for recording expenses and monitoring fuel consumption.

    Road Trip

Although it currently tells me my Jeep Wrangler is averaging 13.05L/100km , costing me $7.44/day in fuel @ approximately $1.36/litre. Ouch! Can't wait for the GTI!

Filled up yesterday, still had a quarter of a tank left, done 632km. 160km to go with the range. Cost of fill this time $51.90. for 33 litres. Last time $62 dollars for almost 40 litres. Been making sure i give it a squirt here and there, but its good to know you can get almost 800kms from a tank with some basic driving techniques

Filled up today at bp in bunninyong. $1.68 per litre for bp ultimate. Done 674 kms. 33.90 litres filled to first click. Still had over 1/4 of a tank. Plus one little bar. Was very close to being 1/4 of a tank though.

I try filling up when it gets to 1/4 of a tank to make sure the fuel pump does not work too hard.
