I just filled up again last night after burning through my first full tank of 98 RON Caltex Vortex... Only got 480kms from the full tank, but I have done a bit of "spirited" driving... Also, most of those km's were city driving, with about 150km of highway driving... I am hoping though that the economy will improve as the engine wears in... We'll see... :)
Can people state:
1. KM driven since last refill
2. Litres added when filling up.
3. For pricing nominate the day you refilled.
As has been stated before "tank full" doesn't mean much as people fill up at different levels of "emptiness"
The TSI torque steers if you ask me, but I've never been FWD's #1 fan.Quote:

I don't see any reason to get the TDI either. Costs more, sounds crap. Sure you might get a bit more torque but in a car like the Polo, it's just going to torque steer more and if you ask me, it already has enough go for what it is.

The cost for my refill = $45.45 charged at $1.28 for 98 (Down from $1.32 using discount of 4 cents)

I have the 1.4 NA Polo so I guess it is not going to be much use for majority of the Polo Owners on 1.2 TSI
Anyways, they are selling like hot cakes, so it might come handy for more people in the future...
34L filled and did 470km. Roughly 7.2L/100km
But I work at North Shore, so M2 back and forth everyday on the peak hour which does nothing to ease the consumption!!!
Got about 3/4 of V-power now, and it feels pretty good at moment...
I will post my figures on Saturday for my TSI
it's subjective. my tdi with straight through back box + intake mods sounds decent TO ME- sure, not enough to **** you over medium distances like your run-of-the-mill mk1 WRX, but just enough to be noticed. and besides, im grateful that so many people do the "man, the car had plenty of torque, i got AWESOME fuel economy, it was really fun to drive in the hills, damn i would have one- but i dont like the sound it makes...."Quote:

it might have enough go already for "what it is"- but what is that? to some, it's a city runabout and nothing more.
to me, it's a car that i can load 4 people into, load up the boot with snow stuff, stack 3 snowboards and a pair of skis onto the roof, and still have no problems overtaking single-occupant commodores up steep hills quite easily.
the diesel might get a bit more torque... with a tune, that's 300+nm..... enough to spank a VT commodore SS in the hills quite comfortably, whilst getting 750+km's (minimum) out of a tank.
dont get me wrong, i think the 1.2 TSI is a brilliant car and truth be told, it would be my car of choice from the current polo line up. but you cant deny the TDI's merits... i mean, there are plenty of people in the states, bolting on a turbo from the 2.0l tdi golf (NOT a big turbo), onto the 1.9tdi engine, and with injectors/ mapping, getting 480nm of torque (enough to spank quite a few cars, rolling start) and still returning 50+MPG....
Exactly and I'm not. Remember I said "I don't see any reason" for the TDI. What you're capable of doing with the TDI is impressive but in our case, the missus car is a run about. It just so happens to double up as a fun little car that handles ok and has enough go to punt it through some back roads while I'm waiting for my car to turn up.Quote:
