    Lads / Ladettes

now that the initial honeymoon phase has worn off im a bit bored with my GTI... sure its zippy and i enjoy spanking fully sik cocky v6 commodore drivers through the hills. i want more. even with trac control and ac off i dont really get much of a throw you in the back of your seat kick that im craving.

    Then your stuck with it.

this happens with most things, except a hayabusa. You can rarely get it full throttle so you've always got more to go.

And who's says you will void warranty. Depends on what you do. Changing to coil overs for example will only avoid the warranty on suspension which dosnt matter because you have changed it all anyway.

You ain't kiddin'!! The one I rode would light up the rear tyre purely on throttle in 4th gear when cruising on a highway and I couldn't get it to wheelie as the back would break traction before lifting the front.

Back to the OP, a tune is the best place to start and some of the tuners offer warranties (you need to check out their Ts & Cs).

As for the original plan B, I know someone who cancelled their Golf R order and kept their modded Golf MkV GTi because he found the his friend's highly modded Golf R wa boring to drive (too capable and neutral - not enough responsiveness and feedback). The guy was VERY capable at track days so we're not talking about someone that just ponced around the shopping districts.

Sadly to make it go faster or handle better you're going to be swaping out stock parts and/or tuning it to go faster... which is going to effect warranty to some extent... of course the upside is it goes faster.

Plan B: Sell it and buy a Golf R
