Did mine yesterday by covering the TFL pin. 5 min job. Easy!

By removing or shielding the TFL terminal, you only disable the main beam, you still have the front parking light, rear tail light & number plate light on, so essentially this is parking lights with dash lights off.
To deactivate plate light you have to disconnect also pin #6 (grey/blu wire) -> may be different with right hand drive? To be verified...
To deactivate parking light you have to change to 0 the byte 12 on long coding module 09.

    Many thanks kawabanga,

Deactivation of parking light works exactly as you describe, make bit 0 of byte 12 not active on long coding module 09 (central electronics control unit) - just made the change. I changed this prior to disconnecting TFL pin & made no difference, so the two go hand in hand. Will verify pin #6 to finalise what I am after as you describe plate light is still on.

Just confirmed what kawabanga stated. For halogens, to turn off all lights with headlight switch in off position:

Make bit 0 of byte 12 not active on long coding module 09 (central electronics control unit) with VCDS, Disconnect TFL & pin#6 (either remove, bend tabs or cover with heat shrink).

This seems very confusing for me... is there an easier way to explain it? What TFL and pin#6?

Why would it matter you cant see them when the Headlights are on anyway Presuming by HID you mean headlights and not "fogs"

You have to change the setting in Cent. Electrics which "Dim LED DRL on terminal 85 (which is the parking setting)" or something like that. It's in the same sub menu which dims LED DRL when indicating.

I was told that LED DRL have to be dimmed on the parking/low beam setting because when they are used in conjunction with the low beam the light output exceeds ECE standards.

Me personally I have them on full all the time 'cos they look cool.
