    Hihi

    Hello VW Polo owners

Currently have a TT Supra which is a bit too much for a daily driver, did a lot of looking around for a daily, wanted an eg civic but couldnt find any decent ones. Mate recently got a brand new vw golf gti, so i got the idea of checking what else vw had in stock. They have a Christmas special, $19,500 drive away for a manual, so i thought why not !

Will take delivery of my brand new pepper gray 6 speed manual polo 77 tsi this tuesday, 4pm !

Standard bodykit and wheels, as i apparently cant option the sports pack on floor stock, has to be done at the factory, same goes for the sunroof

Being a 1.2 turbo, im sure there are people out there that tinker with them, intake, boost gauge etc, did some googling but i couldnt find much ? If there is a sports section on here i would apprecaite guidance !

Anyway, will post pics of the lil beasty shortly

    Heres my poopra for now

your best bet is to look into a ECU Tune for DNA tuning down in Melbourne

have a look on the tuning section of this forum, i could't find the post so if anyone else here can please post it.

im running a 2.25" cat back and a K&N pod filter in the factory box with a DNA tune. im very happy with the car

im yet to Dyno test the car but it should be making between 100 - 105 kw

but thats probably the limits of the 1.2 tsi engine before you start getting into "i might aswell just bought the GTI" territory

    hope this helps

    Hihi

+1 for DNA. I have a DNA tune on my Golf and made 204kw at all four wheels. Goes like a rocket.

Their tune for the 77TSI takes it from 77kw to 100kw at the engine. Torque goes from 200nm to 250nm.

As far as i know, i believe DNA are just about the only local tuner who offers a tune for the 77TSI.

    Congrats on the new car.

picked up the polo today, lots of fun! loves to rev and can get up to the speed limit quite quickly !

the stock sound system is really good, and the clutch and gearbox are very smooth

so the modifying bug has kicked in, even though i told myself i would keep it 100% stock lol

    1. lowered sports pack shocks & springs: was going to get this optioned but apparently its a factory option, couldnt get it done at the dealer. the car sits very high on stock suspension
    2. fog lights - love the look of them, the front looks incomplete without them
    3. the wheels which come with the sports pack
    4. 20% tints
    5. might try out a K&N cone filter, after reading a few threads, apparently it increases induction noise, cant ever get over the sound of a spooling turbo !
    6. do they do short shifters for the polo 6r ? stock throw is a bit long...
    7. might upgrade to the gps headunit, if i find one for a good price, they appear to be plug and play (with bluetooth + gps cables)
    8. slotted\cross drilled rotors - when the current ones wear out

everything else is pretty good for now

    Hey Kam!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who got burned by the factory option for the sports pack, I regret it every day that I didn't get it.

If you want to get the fog-lights try Oriential Parts, that's where I got my OEM fog-lights from. Did the wiring my self not that hard really.

I also got the 17" Boavista alloys from Alloy Wheels Direct and the cheapest I could find brand new, with tyres.

Also the suspension I didn't bother getting because it only drops the car by 15mm 1.5cm which is nothing, considering the money they charge for the springs. Trust me once you get 17" on the gaps between the wheel arches look a lot smaller, in the end it was not worth it for me. But everyone is different. Also the 17" will improve the handling a ton anyway.

I also have a K+N pod filter and would definitely recommend it. It offers little gain as far as induction noise goes but the throttle response is greatly improved which helps tons with the turbo lag.

if you want to lower the car take a look at the 25/40mm H&R lowering springs available from orange tuning
