Not really sure then but considering its the 6sp wet clutch DSG chances are its working fine and "normal" as these have not been recalled and are generally much more reliable than the 7sp.
Remember it is a manual by design. Could try re-adapting the clutch points with VCDS if you feel it is that serious but chances are its got somthing to do will the hill assist.
....and something more suited to the PASSAT section of the forum maybe, with other owners that might have similar issues?
Today I got a loaner, new MkVII 90TSI with 1100km on it
Slow as a wet week (coming from a Polo GTI with the same sized engine, 40kw more, 200kg less, +1 Supercharger)
Glad she showed me the handbrake button - and the button to kill stop/start.
It's spacious compared to the Polo, but I'm not sold. About the only thing I'm envious of is the springs. Feels like a pillow compared to the GTI.
The display is nice too, but in-built, as opposed to the removable ones in the Polos
