Anyone performed the Kufatec upgrade and is happy to explain where to plug into?
I can also confirm that you can activate CH/LH without this kit manually (by pulling indicator stalk up) on the Xenon Polo's.
So this topic has been covered in several areas on this forum, and other forums too. Thinking it'd be best to make some sort of guide for anyone willing to tackle this.
There is a guide available here: http://www.benja.it/devio_en.zip (mad props to the French Polo guys, in particular to kennygolf), and readerr0r's post: What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
To me the guide is really great, but I fail () to understand what needs to be connected where...
The kit is very nicely packaged, but will require the following connections to be made:
Here is the main connector, with pin numbers diagramed beside: What plugs into these (steal some from the original 17-pin connector)?
Then the following two pin harness: What plugs into these?
Relays; pretty sure they can only be pushed in one way:
And the 4 wires to connect (somewhere): My understanding is pin 1 and 37 to plug into the corresponding BCM module A, but what about 6 and 43 (numbers off the wires)?
These are all the connections that are required to complete the physical side of things.
If anyone is happy to assist, (readerr0r?! ) that would be great to assist dummies such as myself!
Thanks everyone

Actually Eddie the Coming Home feature can only be activated manually via the indicator stalk via VCDS but not the Leaving Home function.
For the Leaving Home function it is done automatically with the Auto headlight switch and the Leaving Home wiring and relays (as part of the auto headlights) but you can't do the Coming Home automatically.
I only say this becuase the Golf loan car I had which had the Auto headlight switch and the coming home / leaving home feature worked like this. I would leave the setting on auto: and if I unlocked the car the lights would turn on automatically. If I left the car they would not turn on, I still had to pull the indicator stalk to activate it. I could set the duration for how long the lights stayed on for (for both modes) but couldn't change them to be all automatic, it's permanently set.
Don't forget instructions actually come with the kufatec too! I have a translated version in my google docs.

This is the guide you'll need to follow.
As for the CH/LH, yes they'll need to be activated, along with your light sensor in VCDS. CH will only work by pulling the stalk. LH switch needs to be auto and it needs to be dark enough. The CH/LH menu won't show up on the MFD+ Tacho like it does in the Golf, but you can adjust it in VCDS
The wacky screwdriver can be replaced with a bobbypin ala the french guide

My understanding for the manual CH/LH works the following way;
CH: Only works if you pull the stalk up before opening up door
LH: You can activate it by pulling stalk with door open (stupid, as already at car)
I will try turning off one at a time to see if that makes a difference. Thanks folks!
Thanks again for that readerr0r, honestly I completely forgot about Kufatec's guide!!!! For shame!
fastlane, did you have any luck with where the pins need to go specifically? I have just received my kit and would like to try and wire it up over the weekend.
Cheers!

Going to actually try next weekend!
If you try this week, please let me know
thanks I'll try and install the actual light switch tonight.. will take some photos to show off the actual install and change of the loom.

Looks like I am stuck at the same step as you... Removing the existing light switch assembly and trim is easy.
However, I assume i need to now proceed to disconnect the battery (do I?) and re-wire the coloured pins/cables from the existing cable assmebly/plug (the one the existing light switch connects from), into the Orange/Red adaptor.
I've emailed Kufatec if they can clarify this as the German instructions, even translated, are not clear.

Okay crude diagrams to follow but this is how I understand what needs to be done.
1) Remove the existing Light switch by pushing it in and turning it right - it should then pull out.
2) Disconnect the light switch from the cable/adaptor.
3) Remove the side panel of your dash and pull the cable loom out (note you cant pull it far because it is also attached to the internal lights dimmer switch
4) You need to use the tool (what is it called ?) to remove every single wire from the existing adaptor/cable and wire it into the new cables provided by Kufatec. This would probably take an experienced person 30 minutes - and I assume battery disconnection may be wise.
The cable arrangement should be something like this: (please excuse my mspaint handy work)
Effectively the yellow lines are the lose wires supplied on the new cable, while the blue cables are from the pre-existing cable. The red rectangle is the new cable adaptor that subsequently plugs into the black adaptor/portion of the new cable. The bottom black cable/plug is the power segment of the new cable (im assuming).
5) There are three left over wires that connect to the BCM network control unit - but I have no idea where these go from the Kufatec document.....
Hopefully someone can complete the final step documentation for me, and if anyone knows where I can get that double pronged driver I would appreciate it, as I couldn't for the life of me get a single one of the existing cables out of the existing harness
Screwdriver I need!!!:
