Also a shame to see the steering wheel controls disappear. Not a deal breaker, but seems a bit strange.
The old Polo GTI never had steering wheel audio controls. The new GTI will.
The old GTI had a sunroof option. Doesn't look like we will get it here yet.

I wonder how much they will charge for the leatherette/Alcantara option? Surely not $2500.

good point, an oversight on my part....

xenon, XDS, DSG, RCD510, audio package, anti theft, rain sensing wipers..... it'd seem almost silly to have a car loaded with that, and yet no leather option....

Weird. Every pic I've seen online has them removed, but the leaked document lists 'Multi-function leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles'. Go figure.

That's because what WE get as standard is in some cases optional in other markets.

The multifunction steering wheel is a UKP110 option in the UK. Curtain airbags are a UKP575 option and as far as I can tell even cruise control is optional in the UK.

I guess the 215/40r17 is almost exact radius as the standard tyres on standard polo.

This would make VWs life so much easier. No work needs be done to the speedo or gears.

Be prepared to fork out some good coinage to become ADR compliant you need to get washers installed from Volkswagen otherwise you will be driving an illegally modified vehicle all cars with Bi-Xenon headlights must have washers standard or if modifying must be installed to be compliant.

However i have heard some people do conversions to the Xenon and replace the gas globe with HID and use the lens in the Bi-Xenon fitting to magnify the light.

I spoke to a second dealer on the weekend who's take for the GTI date was 'we're expecting them last this year, but could be early next year'...so I think they are erring on the side of caution. I think there seems to be a good chance of a Nov/Dec delivery of GTI's but no promises.

I was talking about getting the entire GTI headlight unit...
I know its a dream, but I really like the effect!

Anyways, I might just be one of those guys doing a simple HID conversion, with the many kits available.

Or perhaps getting a normal but quality Philips whiter emitting bulbs.
