GTI Oil consumption

Gday all I'm pretty new on here but have discovered a key point with 1.4tsi twin charged oil consumption. I purchased my MY13.5 GTI 6 weeks ago and after reading happenings on here regarding oil consumption watched the dipstick daily like a hawk. When i purchased my polo it had 12800km on it and the dipstick was showing full. Now every time i have driven the GTI i have let the oil temp get to at least 85c before booting it and even after daily checks of the oil level , (when at operating temp) haven't noticed the slightest difference in 2800km. Now this morning i went to fast fit in mornington to get the front muffler delete done and went for a drive after. To be honest I gave it a bootful as soon as i left when it was cold and had quite a fang around my neighbourhood to listen to the tone and gear change pops. When I returned home i checked the oil and low and behold the stick was at the 3/4 mark. After i added 400ml of oil i went for a 10km round trip fang after it had warmed up and no oil usage. Could this issue just be put down to blow by? It was surprising that the GTI had never used any oil but as soon as i flogged it before everything was to operating temp it used oil like a 2 stroke?

Interesting point. Mines on 24000kms and is a MY12.5 And has been fine with oil consumption but generally I wait for it to heat up before putting my foot down.

exactly like I said the only time I did put the boot in when cold was when it used oil, being forged pistons I suppose they expand , but I'm no expert
