Probably a rock stuck between the disc and the disc guard (which ironically always causes these problems). Listen to which side it's coming from and then push the metal plate behind the brake disc back a little and hopefully a rock pops out.
My Polo has developed a certain grinding or rubbing noise somewhere from the front when accelerating from a complete stop, but it doesn't happen when slowing down and then accelerating. It sounds like metal on metal and only lasts a second or two.
Suggestions, thoughts, remedies?
Thanks

Thanks mate,
The noise wasn't there first thing this morning but after about 10 minutes of driving it was there. So I pushed both disc guards back a little so we'll see how it goes. I did notice when I tapped the guard it sounded like the noise I have been hearing. If not, I might try a blast of water directed at that area. One thing, probably being paranoid, it wouldn't be from the DSG would it?
