I went for the 3 door version as I said earlier, which is made in Spain if I am not mistaken.
I thought all of the new model Polos in Australia come from Spain and it was the previous model that came from South Africa.

I don't know cars for that purpose, I bought Polo as a city car, we cannot drive 120kph in Sydney...

well if you need to do 120kph just to take over another car, that means the other car might have done 100-110 the speed limit, which means it'll be illegal, and also pointless for you to take over as if you're doing the speed limit there shouldn't be any need to do so.

Before the sporty and range-topping GTI arrives towards the end of this year, the new Polo is currently available in two separate equipement grades: the entry level Polo Trendline and the more equipped Polo Comfortline. The Trendline models come from Spain while the Comfortline grades are sourced from a Volkswagen factory in South Africa.

Yep, thats right! seem to read this everywhere I looked.

Spanish 3 doors and South African 5 doors.

Personally it would not influence my decision to a great length, as alot of BMW and Merc are made in South Africa. Not too familiar with these two car makers, but seems to be the case... Except I actually wanted 3 door version of the car, and thought the option of comfort pack will make up for the trim level!

And yer, like I said before, speeding is not my intention, so I think my slightly slower NA engine satisfies my needs

Back on the topic, I imagine people with a Polo 5 door might be a bit upset seeing the Golf (arguably the better 5 door car between the 2 models!) is going for such a good price, with an identical engine... Just 2K more???

I totally get what you are saying, But the fact that the margin for Polo is already so low, it is difficult for the dealer to make any significant discounts. There are greater room for a GOLF (discount), until Now!!!

You're kidding me? So if you are behind someone doing 90km/h in a 100 zone you will overtake them at 100 (speed diff = 10km/h or about 3m/s)? Do some maths and tell me how many seconds you will be on the wrong side of the road to do that.

You sound like you have done this maths already, But most of us don't have the time to do the calculation while driving...
