    Going on Holidays

    Hey there,
Im going on holidays very soon, for a period of 2 months.
What things should I do to prepare my Polo 81TSI for storage?
I hear a battery trickle charger attached over that period is a good idea, but Im not quite sure if it is necessary for such a new vehicle; Any suggestions will be great.

    Thanks in advance

I'd just lock the car and have a great holiday!

Planning wise, run the fuel tank down before the trip then fill up only when you get back. Fuel goes "stale" pretty quick.

Leave the keys With family/friends in case of emergencies.

Pump the tyres up to 44psi

    minimal fuel

    lock the car.

If possible, leave the windows open a small amount.

I wouldn't bother with a charger or anything like that

yeah old fuel... modern fuel turns to poo in weeks so have as little as possible and fill the tank when you get home.

Most modern cars consume some battery even when parked, I think you should trickle it if away longer than a few weeks, but thats just me.

Plenty of good chargers out there. CTEK are great and I use them on some of my fleet, but also have used a $20ish Aldi charger and that did the job very well too. The Polo battery isnt anything very special, just dont use anything old that you found at your grandads place, it needs to be a decent quality unit from 2000 onwards as a rule of thumb. If youre minted, get a CTEK, they are great and often on special at Repco et al.
