    Getting MFD on 2013 77TSI?

The 2013 Polo GTI has a MFD with controls on the right of the steering wheel.

But the 2013 Polo 77TSI does not have a MFD or controls. Also not listed as included in the brochure.

However, in the manual there is a way to control a MFD with the right stork... by holding down OK and using the trip computer buttons to move through MFD menu. This does not work.

Is it possible to get the MFD so that you can scroll through music, contacts etc? maybe through vag com?

In a 2010 you use the button on the end of the r/hand stalk Just rock it up or down and it scrolls through the limited menu that it has.
Yours will probably be the same

    Getting MFD on 2013 77TSI?

    Here's my explanation:
The GTI has a 'highline' MFD that can display everything from the outside temperature to your oil temp to your music and GPS. The TSI/TDI has what's called the 'midline' MFD, it's very much still an MFD, but with some limitations. It can only display outside temp, speed, fuel economy, range, distance, speed warning etc.
With the GTI's 'highline' MFD, you control it from the right hand steering wheel controls. With the TSI/TDI's 'midline' MFD, you control it from the right hand stalk rocker. You DO NOT have to hold the 'OK' button, that is only for resetting the average fuel economy display and the distance and time displays. All you have to do is press the up or down buttons on the rocker switch on the very end of the right hand stalk. The MFD will scroll through its various functions as listed above.

If yours really isn't working I'd take it to your dealer because they do certainly work on every TSI/TDI in Australia from the factory.

Absolutely correct if he read my post as I wrote it I did not mention using OK

ONLY the rocker switch. Was using it when I was driving today and it worked perfectly

Alex is spot on. You can cycle through the various measurements and stats with the right rocker.

Give it a play youll find it.

The midline MFD is working fine as you have described. I was wondering whether it was possible to get the music and phone functions on the midline MFD? i.e. I can see temp, speed, fuel etc etc, but wondering if you can get the music and phone menu options like in the GTI?

    any hacks possible?

No sadly because the screen isn't a full LCD screen made out of pixels. Just various symbols that light up accordingly. A swap to the GTI tacho is possible but it's about $600 and the dealer needs to install it.

Oh I see. No I don't think it's possible to show the extra info on the midline MFD and I don't think there are any hacks to do so – apart from replacing your entire MFD with a third-party solution that one company I know of provide.

No it is impossible, no ifs or buts. The MFD from the GTI uses a active matrix LCD (like a tv, square pixels arranged in straight rows) where the MFD in the 77tsi used a preset LCD display (like a clock radio).

The difference been the GTI can display any information the computer can create and display it like a tv in the form of text and pictures. The 77tsi can only display what is physically designed into the screen so no custom words (only numbers in the middle, only fuel gauge at the bottom and only time and gear up top.
