    Cool advert!...Might sound strange but that is a more appealing and makes me want to buy it more than a English/Australian advert.....Gives the car so much more substance.......I really like the German BMW adverts too.....It just is a better fit I guess in my opinion.

    We knew it was destined to happen sooner or later: the first reported crash of a Scion FR-S. The hapless driver is a member of the FT86 Club forums who goes by the nickname Neutral.

    The 24-year old FR-S owner posted two pictures and a rather remorseful account of the incident that occurred during a right turn when he lost control of the rear-wheel drive sports car at about 20mph (32km/h) and then ended up smashing it into a telephone pole.

    He says that he was a previous owner of B16-swapped Honda CRX and that he had taken the same wide turn "a million times over the past 4 years".

    So what happened on that fateful day? Well, like many other drivers, Neutral turned off the traction control. "I entered the turn at about 20mph, and halfway through it, I got on the gas and I honestly can't remember exactly what happened after that", said Neutral.

    The young driver said that both airbags went off but neither he nor his coworker was hurt.

    It's worth mentioning that Neutral noted that he is fully aware of his mistake and that he has learned his lesson.

    "I want you guys to know that I truly feel awful about the whole thing," he said in a forum posting. "I am truly sorry for letting my fellow FR-S owners down, and through making a complete ass out of myself, I feel I've learned a valuable lesson, albeit a hard one."

    Well Neutral, we know where you are coming from, as most drivers of rear-wheel drive sports car have been involved in at least one accident that in hindsight, could have been avoided.
    That is definitely a lot more damage than you would expect from the proposed speed, i would say he was doing a lot faster.

    Actually this was one of my favourite Audi ad. It was a really aspirational ad..

    Unfortunately for Audi, 30 years later, these ****s are now driving the 4 rings.

    Drove the skoda Fabia VRS today... nice car, went and also handled well. 5 doors and a bit cheap inside in places, so not for me... although the biggest problem for me is the price... 32500 in NSW. eek. how will they sell any at that price? sure they are available right now, but its Polo (and to keep on thread, 86/BRZ) money and no one is sure of the skoda brand's resale... I think VWA (who i am told own SkodaAus) are shooting themselves in the foot with Skoda. shame.

    They are pricey because Skoda's are still made in the czech republic.....The Polo's; apart from the GTI are built in South Africa.

    They are pricey not because of where they are made but because Skoda Australia is owned and operated by VGA, aka Volkswagen Group Australia. Why would they price their own hero brand out of the marketplace?

    Side note, all 3 door polos come out of the Pamplona factory.

    Skodas are cheaper in Europe than volkswagens because they lack the same interior quality and the extra options that go with it. Plus other bits and bobs......I stand by what I said.

    I admit defeat with the Pamplona factory. My comment on VW Polo's apart from the GTI was just an assumption.

    I'm confused, your previous post said that skodas are so expensive due to where they're constructed, yet now you're saying they're cheaper due to inferior quality.... Not trying to sound arrogant, I'm just confused.

    Another side note, you would be surprised how many parts carry over and share the same part numbers.

    In Europe, Skodas are cheaper than Volkswagens because that's how the parent company has positioned their brands in that market;

    Skoda - value
    Seat - sporty
    VW - premium
    Audi - luxury

    In Australia, Skodas are no cheaper than Volkswagens because that's how they've been positioned here in our market;

    Australian - value/standard
    Japanese - value/standard
    European - premium/luxury

    And this my personal view, but I reckon the Czechs build their Skodas better than the Germans build their VWs.
