A few questions about the GTi

Hey so ive had my car for almost 2 weeks and done about 950km and loving it.

    Ive got a few questions.

    1. I'm noticing some little knocks, clicks and noises. Is this just the car settling in? I cant pinpoint exactly when it does it except for the noises from the gearbox when its changing gears which i think is normal?

    2. The blue tooth thingy, if i got an iPhone cradle for it does it hook the phone up to the cars system eg charges the phone etc?

    3. I'm wanting to delete the mid muffler. What part of the warranty would this void?

    4. The front drivers side shock is noisy when going over big bumps. Not sure how to describe it other then airy if that makes sense?

anyway apart from these little things its an awesome little car and i haven't noticed any oil consumption which makes me happy!

    Thanks
    Blake

I can start conversation on a few things.

    1. Mine makes little noises which I think is just the car, one rattle was the floor in the hatch above the spare which I put padding around to stop, but there are just others...but I don't care. There is the braking clunk as you take off over 10 or so km/h.
With DSG clunks, they just do it. This is my second DSG car and they make noises...nothing to get paranoid about unless it actually effects the way the car drives. That's just my opinion on that.

    2. There is a sticky in this forum about the bluetooth thingy which will give you all the info you need.

    4. I've heard that in the last 2 VWs I've owned. One was a Mk5 with over 150k and again on my new GTI, sounds the same... once again, nothing to get paranoid about unless it stops the car driving properly.

Enjoy the car, I love mine. It is using Oil, but honestly I don't care...all I've done so far is top it up with the little container my dealer gave me or drive over to the dealer when I have spare time and grab a coffee while they top up the car and my little container for me.

Yeh im not worried about them really i just thought if its something that needs looking at then i'll get it done now before i get use to it and forget about it.

Im enjoying it thoroughly! They seem like a pretty good good little package. Cant wait to get more driving in and maybe take it onto a track!

    4. Does it sound like a dog's squeeze toy? Mine does it as well. The dealer seemed to think there was something (can't remember exactly what he said) that is supposed to wear in and stop squeaking after a few thousand kms. Mind you mine still does it at 10,000km, but I only hear it with the window wound down. Could be the passenger side as well, not sure.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS
