    Extended Warranty

    Hi all,
Just had a query regarding extended warranty for the Polo GTi. I have being quoted a few options.
    1. VW branded Allianz extended warranty for 2 years and seems excessively expensive
    2. Allianz 3 year/100 000Km warrantry for $1435 - being told that its the only true aftermarket bumper to bumper extended warranty on the market
    3. Swann 3 year/100 000Km warranty for $1375 - have being told that it will cover engine/drivetrain/transimission but does not cover anything in the interior (excluded on PDS) so is not a true bumper to bumper

My dealer only offered Swann; whereas the Allianz is offered by an aftermarket broker (who also offers the Swann but recommends Allianz). I was wondering whether anyone had an experience with getting the extra insurance. My main worries are the turbo and DSG breaking down

I got the warranty extension on my TSI 77 last when I got it a few weeks ago. Think it was around 1000 bucks but as it is the VW extended warranty its transferable.

I guess you've gotta ask yourself are you keeping it for more than three years? If so then might be worth it.

I am pretty sure I am getting the extra insurance. Just not sure which one to go with. All the insurance are transferrable with a small fee. VW branded one is only for 2 years whereas the others are for 3

Yeah I see what you mean.

I'd take the bumper to bumper personally. Would only take something like the power window switches failing to make up the difference between interior being covered/not covered. Just a hassle to go through a broker I guess

Really? I took delivery of a new GTI on Thursday last week (Oct '12 build) and there was no mention of anything other than the standard 3 year warranty (plus the 1 year extended warranty thrown in as part of the deal).

Would be good if this was the case!

It is the case! Applies for all DSG equipped cars I believe... 5 years from new so even 2009 cars are covered.

    ...I think

Anyone know where to get clarification/confirmation of this. DSG is the only thing I am worried about.
