    Everyone should do this!!!!!

I've been holding this post for a while now mainly because I'm just lazy and couldn't be bother uploading all the pics. I got my little Polo all paint protected in all those main areas where are prone to damage. It cost me around about $150 and I must say it's great money spent on something that can keep your car preserved for years.

What I got done was the boot bummer guard, all door cuffs and door trims and side mirrors. You can get a lot more done all the way to the entire car but that's in the thousands. I'm sure people already know about this but I just thought I would share the idea as I think it's a great invest.

    ENJOY!!!

Did mine myself Did the door sills and boot on the POLO.

On the PASSAT WAGON did the door sills the boot and bumper right down to the silver trim. Also did the stainless inserts on the door sills.
Took the stuff right down to the weld seams under the door sills to stop stone chips

Used 3M Scotchgard paint film 2mm thick, Gloss finish

Cost $146 plus postage from Melbourne

Was going to do the handle part that gets scratched but ran out of stuff so just cut fingernails short now LOL WIll post some pics when I wash the cars .
Much harder to see on the red and brown cars anyway.
You should go to a motorbike shop and buy a can of Plexus Plastic Clean and give it a coating about every 6 weeks as the stuff tends to absorb moisture and will last longer if treated with this stuff.
Its about $22 for a 350ml size spray can Just give it a light spray leave for a minute and polish with a soft cloth

Be aware its not as easy to apply as maybe it looks You need car to be grease and wax free.
There are 4 pages of instructions.

You need to buy some isopropyl alcohol Can buy at chemist in rubbing alcohol a spray bottle for both that and water with some dishwash in it and a lot of patience.

    The instructions are very comprehensive.

I did the Polo right down underneath each door sill and it hasnt any scratches at all You should also buy a spray can of Plexus plastic cleaner and give it a coat every month as the stuff allows water through microscopically and this stops the dirt getting in the pores of it
As you will see on the website it comes in various widths so measure up to use it without wasting too much

I bought cut lengths NOT the CAR KIT

I've also seen some cars with this on the front bumper and across the front car (bonnet and side panels). Had to look closely to notice up. Thought it'd be good for cars that are country driven.

I've used something similar though thicker for where I mount my roof racks. I scratched the paint when fitting them once, so learnt that lesson that hard way.

There are two thicknesses of this stuff also the thinner one is easier to stretch over curved surfaces and thats what I used.

Is this like the 3M version? I remember seeing the 3M turn a bit yellowish on a friend's white car

Sorry buddy... haven't check in here for a while. The company is Paint Protection Film - XPEL Technologies Corp. he is a re-seller in Aust though. Just do a search for Sydney resellers. He's a great guy and hopefully I'll be doing some Design work for him as he is starting to branch out quite rapidly. He will also offer a straight installation guide and lots of useful tips too. He's a great guy, highly recommend him.

He did the job in less then a hour, gave me the alcohol solution with some extra car wash solutions as well. Went back there yesterday actually to talk business and the car film was getting a tad dirty. He replaced it with no questions at all, even gave the car a wash down.
