Seen it a few times now......
Hi guys,
i have a polo 6r 77tsi and last weekend on my way home the car started shaking and went into 'limp mode' with epc, engine and esp lit on the dash... Lucky I wasn't far from home so I limped it into the garage.. Vw assist came and said it needs towing. So next mourning got it towed to barloworld mascot (sydney) and found my ignition lead on cylinder 1 was the problem hence the car feeling like it was running on 3 cylinders.Lucky it's under warranty and didn't cost anything.
wondering if this is a common fault? Has anyone else had this problem?
matt.

Usually cylinder 3's spark lead is the cause of the fault. New ones come with conduit around them to rectify the issue.
I had misfire on cylinder 1.spark plug replaced under warranty.mine is gti and happen when 6000km from new

Had the same problem last night on my 77TSI. Ignition lead was the culprit.
Ordered - 2015 Mercedes CLA200 - Cirrus White / AMG Line & Exclusive Package / Seat Comfort Package / 18" Multispoke Gloss Black AMG Wheels / Panoramic Sunroof / Command Package
Current - 2011 VW Polo 1.2TSI DSG Comfortline - Reflex Silver / Sports Pack / Comfort Pack / RCD 510
Really yeah my car runs out of warranty at the end of the year so I was lucky I didn't have to pay in a sense..
I also just had all the lights come on yesterday. CEL EPC ESP and Tire pressure. Car sounded different and would idle very rough. Had car for almost four years how any idea how much this would cost? Should I just go to a European car specialist like BLA or VW Village instead of the dealers?
Look in the end it would probably be better to get a VAGCOM and check it yourself as VW charge an average of 150+ p/h for diagnostic work.
Don't be too concerned about all the lights on the dash - this is caused becuase all the systems are linked. The engine has a fault which will automatically disable the ESP and braking module (which also controles the TPMS). chances are its a very small thing like a coil pack or ignition lead.
