I have a new Polo 77TSi bought last year. Today the display showed the warning EPC and the car lost power unable to accelerate past 20kph.
I called the nearest service centre which is Barlowworld in Mascot. They took the car in and said they would attempt to look at it today. They didn't.
I called VW Australia. On a scale of one to ten on how helpful they were, one being the worst, they topped out at 1.
So I'm left with no car. No replacement car because I didn't preorder and no definitive time as to when they are going to have it looked at. I mean how can they tell you that I need to prebook? If I had known three weeks ago this was going to happen sure I would have booked.
They should consider reserving emergency cars should this happen to someone on any given day. I'm absolutely fuming. The customer service from VW Australia and Barlowworld leaves a lot to be desired. Any help or insight any of you may have would be greatly appreciated.
This is the second major fault I've had with the car and second unsatisfactory treatment I've received. I posted previously in the problems thread. Caveat Emptor!
Cheers!
First off, ring another service centre, speak to the service manager and see if they will help you out. Explain th situation and ask if they could look at the car instead, they might even organise a flat-bed to transport the car. It's clearly a warranty issue so I that's the case, VGA should cover all costs incurred by the dealer.
Just because you buy a car from a specific dealership doesn't mean it has to go back there for servicing.
