They are literally the normal 6R GTI denvers with some black paint and a machined face. So 17x7.0 with an ET of 46-48 (can't remember exact number)

I imported these wheels for Reece - only 2 sets in Australia that we know of, I've brought both of them over from Europe. He's spent months refurbing them to 100% perfect condition and they're going to have a very lucky new owner soon!

So sounds like $600-800 range is what I should look for. I guess I better pi$$ or get off the pot then and decide which wheels I want. Don't worry Gavs, I wont turn this into another "what wheels should I get thread"

I'm glad this post came up. Taking delivery of a gti in April and already looking at aftermarket rims. Will be easier to get finance approval from the boss if I can convince her I'll sell the Detroits.

I know what u mean, it's always something out before something in. I'm after some boavistas but rarer than the GTI wheels it would seem

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

If your looking for Boavista's I would check out AlloyWheelsDirect. I got mine from them in the UK shipped to my door cheaper than I could get from the dealer next door. Haha I love the interwebs. They also have a good selection of tyres as well, so I got them to throw in some Michelin Pilots as well, thought why not, I couldn't use my old ones.

Hi, first post for me . I was wondering what the members thought of these "detroit" wheels on ebay? Quality etc? Genuine ones are out of the question and a large tyre firm in Brisbane says he can get similar (also from Taiwan). Any thoughts? Thanks Jivebug
