mate i reversed into a beam only after 5 days of having my polo. Its currently in the shop as we speak. Did 4 grand worth of damage - went through insurance, as they have to replace the boot lid, bumper + brackets and spraying of parts. My repairer said parts are easily and readily available. Dont worry too much. I know how you feel.

    Man that sucks.

I find even with dead stock brakes, I usually have to ease off to give the person behind room to pull up, as VW brakes are just so good when used seriously.

I'm with you there Greg Roles. I'm often looking in the rear mirror when braking hard...

I'd cry, then blame temporary insanity for what happens next...

+1 best excuse you will ever get!

And looking in the rear view mirror when braking is almost second nature.

Had exactly the same happening to me a few years ago. Girl in a VW mk1 used my car as brakes. Didn't look like much damage, but lots of damage behind the bumper.

Yep, I love the idea of a Reiger kit.

Gents, the Brembos are just the pads (from Ebay UK). Still looking into importing something a bit more substantial. The best price for Brembos (complete setup) seems to be from the UK at about $1600 delivered.
I'll see what the car is like after a tune first
