Hi guys,
Have polo TSi 2013, manual, 29,000 km. Had about a year, drives great. The issue i have is the engine warning light has come on a few times. The first time this happened my local mechanic suspected dirty fuel and reset the chip, test drove without finding any real issue. Was good for a few months then came on again. Took to VW Service who suggested the Oxygen sensor was faulty. They replaced sensor, has been driving fine on my infrequent drives (I really only use on weekends for small trips), however the light has now come on again (prob 3 months since replacement).
The car has no notable loss of power and doesn't seem to be running rough. I thought to take back to VW Service however also had the thought to ask a VW forum. Other thought i had as to get a chip reader myself so i could see if i could make sense of the codes and/or at least, reset myself.
Any thoughts based on anyone's experience with similar???? The advice I've been given is as long as the car is not running rough 'should' be ok to drive. Again, interested in opinion.
Thanks for any advice in advance,
Cheers,
Paul.
Get someone to scan the car with vcds/vag-com. If there is an engine light on, there will be stored codes in there which will tell you what the problem is. I wouldn't be driving around with an engine light on, it could be minor but I'd rather know.
