ECU 'Software Update' as per TSB

    hi all,

    thanks for stopping by.

thanks to my new trusty ross tech cable i've diagnosed a problem on my 2012 polo 1.2tsi.

the following PDF service bulletin (TSB 2027485/7) describes the problem exactly
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B63...DFxNfJq9y981-A

problem is.. the end of that service bulletin (after installing the spacer plate) wants me to do a 'software upgrade' on the ECU. i called VW and they are so half arsed, can't even give me a price or time that the software update will take, saying it's just going to be on a time basis, at $170 an hour. sigh.

is there anyone else that can do this software update for me?
or can somebody recommend a particular workshop or vw service manager in sydney who is good at being honest about this stuff?

    thanks

It usually takes 1.75-2 hours to update engine ECU. I charge $180 for that when done during normal servicing.

Look for VW independent workshop in Sydney which has Autologic (blue box) equipment.
