Eco performance tuning ? Ecu upgrade and dsg tuning ?

    Hey Guys

I am tossing up between getting the APR ECU upgrade or the one from ECO Performance Tuning with DSG tuning. (153kw) Has anyone had any experience with ECO Performance Tuning ?

I spoke to the guys at ECO Performance Tuning and he said he may be able to do the launch control on the Polo Gti and his ECU upgrade has a very similar setup to the APR setup ?

The website claims 'DSG Gearbox Tuning consists of modifying the software on the gearbox ECU to allow us to make smoother and faster gear changes. Gear changes can be made so that we can achieve up to 50% quicker changes. We can also activate and move Launch Control limit to 4200rpm for better launching when required.'

    This is his website
Eco Performance Tuning - Eco Performance Tuning

Any ideas please ? Need advice APR Stage 1 ECU upgrade or the Eco Performance plus DSG tuned ?

    thanks

Some of the written language on his website seems a little bizarre to me but in all honesty, unless you can speak to someone who has some first hand experience with them, I'd be going to APR provided you don't mind $pending a little extra. They have the reputation, experience and all the R&D you could ask for.

Just thought I'd post my two cents on this. I actually got Eco to do a DSG tune on my car yesterday. Now whilst I only drove it briefly yesterday, I could definitely notice a significant difference in shift speed & also smoothness. My car has had the shudder from 1st to 2nd gear for a while now & the tune has eliminated it completely. VW wanted $1,500 to fix the shudder & the tune cost me $561. The guy from Eco is a true champion ( his name is Kyp) & he even comes to you to do the tune. He will do a full Ecu remap plus the DSG tune for $1,200 which is cheaper than a APR tune on its own. I appreciate that apr have been around for ages & have the r&ad to back them up, but this guy tunes trucks, boats, jet skis as well & always gets results. I will be getting Kyp to do a tune when I get the cash.

Can you tell me... under normal acceleration (not giving it the beans), what gear are you in @ 60kmh?

It's obvious the shifting parameters have been addressed in the low gears, but I'm more interested to know whether he's tapped into the mid range.

Not giving it the beans I'm usually in 6th gear when doing 60 under normal acceleration. On the rare occasion it will be in 5th gear but there is usually a small incline so the gearbox drops back a gear. Hope this answers your question.

Can he do a CTHE Engine (2013 Polo GTI) ?

Not sure the clutch packs in the DQ200 Gearbox will like Launch Control ? The Golf has a different design of clutch packs and can 'handle' the Semi Hard Launch.
