Is it easy to remove window tinting?

    Hi all,

Just wondering how easy it is to remove window tinting? The reason I am asking is that I noticed some small bubbles in the tint and also a couple of light scratches. It should be done under warranty but I don't want them to do it if it's going to cause any damage. So thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

easy answer: it's under warranty. If they damage it, they fix it.

I had bubbling on my passenger and drivers window, took it to VW and told them to fix it. Which they did because it was under warranty. No issues since.

    So I agree with Polodave

I have taken many-a-windowtint off and it can be a PAIN in the bottom to say the least. I use a high pressure steam cleaner to lift the tint slowly and carefully. Invariably what happens is that the glue does not lift with the tint and you are then forced to get a plastic scraper and clean off the glue. Took me about 30-45 minutes per window to get it off, but I agree, if you have warranty for it, get them to do it

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

I watched as a window tinter removed old tint off one of my windows with a heat gun. Took him about 10 minutes.
