The new recall for MY2013 models do not include a software update. Only the oil is changed from synthetic to mineral.

If you did receive a software update it would probebly be the 37g7 update which is generally applied across all models. New models "should" have it pre applied but apparently VW sucks when it comes to updating production runs.

I recently got the 35c1 recall which apparently includes new Mech, Oil and a software update.

Now I didn't get the update (it's not stated on the invoice) but this could be becuase I got the 37g7 update way before.

I would like to hear from other people who have done this recall and who did/didn't get the update. I'm not sure if the dealer I went to is incompetent or it genuinely didn't need it.

If you had the Mechatronic recall the oil SHOULD have been changed and listed on the invoice as mine was.
It stated the part number for the unit and next line was the oil with the mineral part number

Would you expect a MY14 Golf 1.4TSI with DSG, built 1st week of October, to be subject to any of the current recalls? I collect the above car later in the week and would like to know if anything needs doing prior to delivery?

Probably not but you will be in the right place to ask the man. IF you have the vin put it in the searcher

Yep I haven't received a letter yet but I put my vin into a vw web page to check that it was part of the recall. Wanted to get it done soon and avoid long waits.

Letters will be sent out by VGA to owners of vehicles affected.

RE software update, copied directly from the work instructions:
    Note.
Not all vehicles are affected by this campaign. Before a repair check with the application "Vehiclespecific
information” in Elsa-Pro or the Dealer Connect system whether the vehicle is affected by this
    campaign.
On the affected vehicles the gear oil must be replaced and the software of the gearbox control unit
    updated.
Please make sure that on the affected vehicle the check and repair of all open campaigns/measures
are performed during the workshop visit.
Noting that most TPI's now have that last line, probably to try and improve customer service ratings, not that' it's helping....

I too found out my polo was affected by this recall via the same vw page. I rung up VW and they said it was strange i hadn't recieved the letter yet.

They then put me through to Nepean Motor Group (My local dealer), and they apparently don't have the new oil in stock and won't for some time...

Hopefully they have it when the car is visiting for a 30k service in the middle of janurary

I need some advice, I've had the recall done on the DSG but now when I hit the gas from standing the power comes on, then drops off until 2nd gear and then it takes off from there. Traction control is off and I have an APR tune. This didn't seem to happen before, is there a chance of some new torque limit being activated or is the clutch slipping? I notice there is a remap from APR that mentions torque limits but I'm not keen on adding another $900 expense to get the gearbox working the way it should / was ...
