Just got myself a shiny n beautiful Polo GTI with all the bells and whistles, Xenon lights, sun roof, touch screen etc
My engine mod list:
Intake
Exhaust
Forge fmdvrtsi
Coil packs
Intercooler
Tune
I'm stuck at stage one....Im finding so many different intakes, I've come from an extremely modified and tuned S3 and really do believe that a CAI is a CAI. My question is one of fitment. I'm finding all the different intakes for all the 1.4 twin charged engines....my question, are they all identical in terms of how their adapter lines up to the original air feed duct in the top of the front bumper?
Specifically the Scirocco and Golf 118 engines seem to fall into one category and the Polo/VRS/Ibiza 1.4 fall into another. Is it all marketing hype?? The prices are quite varied for for what looks like an identical product. Some sites, the photos are exactly the same but the prices are different.
One good example is the Forge FMIND14 and TMG carbon intake....they look identical....one is for the Scirocco the other for the Polo...THEN to confuse matters further, Forge also have their FMIND(P)14 which comes with a different air duct adapter, an adapter that looks like no other from any other company making CAI's for the Polo GTI....I'm honestly thinking this is purely a marketing gimmick as every other intake of this design looks like the FMIND14 and TMG intake....
Has anyone bought a Scirocco or 118TSI intake and it's fit like a glove for the Polo GTI? There's even some fantastic Simolta/Grumpie M imitation intakes from china that look a treat!
