We're not discussing anything which hasn't already been discussed over and over already though.... go back and look at the start of the thread, and the other threads which have been closed for various reasons...

Other people who are looking at Polos are going to come here and want to know if the issue still exists. What's wrong with discussing an ongoing issue? This is _still_ an issue and the issue is _still_ the lack of communication about what's going on. Serge confirmed that VAG aren't communicating with the dealers either.

No one is saying an issue doesn't exist. And Serge said no such thing - VGA are constantly communicating with the dealers, read his post again.

The current situation is what most people have been asking for. That customer orders are prioritised rather than "floor stock". This means that dealers no longer can expect a set number of cars per model based on simply the size of their dealership or location etc. It means that month to month they get an allocation based on the demand and needs and waiting times and how many cars the factory is actually able to get through and allocation for Australia etc. This is why dealers don't know how many "extra" they're getting anymore. This still means customers will miss out, but what can you do? This is what Serge's post said.

If you did actually bother to look through the thread and the others in this section, you'd find that several of the people who were not expecting their cars until September etc already have cars on the boat, and that a few people who were expecting December etc are getting allocations now. So VGA are making an effort and things are improving.

But if you think that VGA or VAG need to lay out exact numbers and allocations and other internal information then you're dreaming...

    I quote serge:

"Now, we dont know what allocation of cars for ordering we will get every month from VGA, hence we cannot tell anybody when your car will be allocated."

That doesn't sound like they have a clue what's going on.

I'm asking them to give enough information to the dealers so that dealers can give accurate information to customers. In my particular case it went from: Yes we can meet your requirement from a week 9 build slot to, no, we don't have that build slot, to waiting 3 months to find out it MIGHT be delivered in July or August. When I've bought cars before from other manufacturers the dealers have had much more information about when they will get the cars ORDERED by customers.

At the end of the day, I'm the customer and I'm the one handing over the cash. I don't like being treated by a mushroom or having people like you telling me that it's acceptable for companies to treat customers without respect.

what he means to say is that there's no point in crapping on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about a topic that has already been thrashed to death, a dead horse that's been beaten over and over and over and over and over again.

funny how the same sentiment doesnt apply to the numerous (quite frankly, ****ing GAY) threads in the golf section like "golf gti vs golf R", "golf r observations and questions", "mk 7 speculation thread", "mk 6 led tail lights" blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...

you'd think after FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY posts about tail lights, which ISNT an ongoing issue like this delivery issue, you'd think that the discussion would have been put to rest.

after close to ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED posts, the superiority complex thread that is "golf R vs. golf gti" STILL hasnt been put to rest...

more than a hundred posts on what type of fuel to put in your mk6 gti...

but yeah... please try not to come to a VW enthusiasts forum and express your annoyance at the circus act that is VW and their broken promises re: delivery times (as a few people have already expressed their concerns, and we dont want to hear the same thing from you... we'd rather read about ****ing mk6 tail lights for another 400 posts).

    ironic, isnt it?

As I said, they don't know as it's not just an automatic "you will get x,y,z each month". Instead, now, the cars are being allocated based on a demand system to try and be as fair as possible and get ORDERS allocated as soon as possible.

Anyway, as Buller_Scott said, no point crapping on and on and on etc.

As for those R threads, I agree, there is a whole lot of carrying on all over the place. When things get too heated or whatever, people are told to shutup or give things a break, but short of closing threads, there's not really any way or point to stopping people talking on a topic.

With this situation though, when people are having a go at an organisation for doing what the majority of customers have asked for, despite the acknowledged difficulties everyone is facing... it doesn't help anyone...

I agree about the tiring discussions. Can I just say that if only VW over-estimated the delivery times then most of this probably wouldn't have happened? You'd rather quote the possibiity of 1 year wait and then be able to surprise customers with a 6-8 month delivery if production permits? Anyway, that's all from me so hope this banter stops now. Getting bored of it all. Might as well start a thread of the annoying wait for the new ipad2's etc etc etc...One can only dream about the satisfaction of immediate deliveries and attainment of what we want but wouldn't that take away the suspense and excitement of the whole new car or next new thing experience?

Once again, my apologies Corey and Transporter for accidentally firing at you guys blindly. Just got confused when 2 threads have similar postings from same people at approx the same times

Yep Gti Dave, I agree that overestimating is better than underestimating. I feel that there are definitely dealers who are misleading in order to get a sale. Having said that, there are customers naive enough to think that one dealer can get a car twice as quick as another...

And no problems re the misunderstanding yesterday

this thread, combined with the "new polo problems- list 'em up" makes me grateful that i've got a dinosaur 1.9tdi PD that's tried and true and strong as fork.

it would be no big task for VGA to add a page to their "owners area", advising even general updates on build batches and delivery delays etc etc, which might also help alleviate some of the frustration directed at the individual dealers who are constantly having to update disgruntled customers, but who ultimately have no control over the situation.

i guess it's probably easier to take orders, then leave your "soldiers" / "earners" hung out to dry, when angry customers come knocking on the door...
