My Landcruiser used to do that but was older technology but my 2010 Passat and my 2019 Tiguan stayed within 2 so must be something wrong I reckon. VW have been very good with CC and even better with ACC.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or feature, but I've noticed that my cruise control doesn't keep the car at a constant speed if I'm going downhill or otherwise not applying the accelerator. For example, today I set it to 64 to see if the local speed sign would clock me at 60 (the speedo is about 4 km/h fast), and it's going downhill. Lo and behold, my car was rocketing down at 70 km/h despite it being set to 64.
When I tapped the button to see if it'd force it to slow it down to 64, the panel showed me it was giving me a new setting of 72.
Any idea why this is happening? My precious car was a 2009 Honda Jazz and it'd do everything in its power not to even go 1 km/h past the setting, haha.

Only VWs with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) will maintain speed downhill (and automatically brake for slow traffic in your way). All others will exceed the set speed going downhill.
None of the 6R/6C Polos had ACC, some AW (MY19+) Polos have ACC as part of an option pack.

Thanks! It's very strange as I thought adaptive cruise control was for newer cars with front end crash detection (e.g. so you don't end up running up someone's tail.)
Go figure my old Honda had adaptive CC but this car doesn't! I'll have to be very careful from now on.

Board seems to have eaten my post, but was going to say it's a base trendline. Although my dad has a 2000 Beetle and the CC is adaptive, so VW really, really cheaped out on here. I mean, they didn't even change the reverse light to be on the right side when manufacturing for right hand drive cars... 😬
The light on the right side of the car is actually a FOG light that they have in some countries , hence it is red. As per here
Rear Fog lights are mandatory in the European countries, either in pair or single one on the driver's side from centerline. In the cases where there is only one fog lamp installed in the tail lights cluster, the other symmetrical side holds the reverse light.
