    Cracked Rim - GTi

I have a GTi Polo and the last week I have had a slow leak.
A week to loose 10 lbs
Couldn't see any marks any where.
They are low profile tyres (40 series) but I haven't been smashing into potholes or anything

Anyway - pulled the wheel today, front passenger, and found the rim is cracked.

The car is 2 years old and done 22,000 kms.

Do you reckon it is damage I have done or do you reckon it is a rubbish rim I can claim on warranty

rims can be repaired, but I'd start with warranty.

I thought thats only to resurface or straighten?

Is there any damage on the tire?

Don't suppose the VW dealer sold you Rim Insurance by any chance?
Warranty would be my first bet. Hell, I wouldn't even mention the crack - just that you don't see anything wrong with the tyre
If you have that Rim Insurance, I don't think it costs much to make a claim.

Sorry. What do you mean rim insurance?
    I am thinking warranty

Unless someone can tell me rims are not covered by warranty

Why would wheels be covered by a warranty?
Wheels are a consumable and damageable item and you can't prove it was their negligence that caused it.

Best bet would be to buy a new wheel off someone who is upgrading to other wheels.

A lot of guys on Briskoda have had their rims replaced due to corrosion (a known fault, though not always acknowledged by their local dealer), so it's worth a try for warranty.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS

Agree, it's just like trying to claim warranty on the rear cup holder of a Tiguan... Not gonna happen mate.
