A couple of quick questions - courtesy of the car park

    Gents
    12.5 Gti.

Q1.I have scraped the crap out of my drivers side front rims and to a lessor extent rear rims courtesy of my car park exit. Can the scraps be polished out, and who does it in Sydney (inner west or city).

Q2. I have scraped the black plastic spoiler under the front spoiler - its hanging off and needs replacing (different car park, concrete stopper that was too high). Any idea how I get hold of a replacement and who would fit it?

    Cheers

    Hey tricka.

Q2 - I did the same thing to my car. I took it back to the dealership and the service guys bolted it back on for free. Give yours a call and see if they will as well.

Did your dealer by any chance sell you rim insurance?

Held on with Pop rivets as I just found out Must speak to wife about all the scrapes on it as well

Lesson learned Dont pull so far forward its only a small short car Stay away from Kerbs it only a narrow car.

Q1 I would say not from experience but if you post up some photos then I could help further about the likelyhood of salvage.

Q2 it's pop riveted on so it's an easy fix so long as the plastic isn't torn. One would recommend a word of caution in any modern car approaching gutters or concrete stops forwards of the car as they are all lower than most Australian standard gutters etc.

I'll get some photos up later today.

Will annoy a dealership to pop rivet back on.

Thank you for all the replies - very helpful.

In the meantime have come across these blokes: http://www.wheelrepairs.com.au/

No matter how careful I was, the black plastic would always scrape on some driveways. When mine was only hanging by a few rivets, I pulled it off the rest of the way & I'm not going to bother putting it back on. No doubt it will just happen again

If the front drags go cross it on an angle if possible and it probably wont do it

Same here, but the entire thing came off on the road and when we salvaged it, it was all bent so we didn't bother either.
