A couple of problems.....

Our new 66TSi Manual is now just a month old - had to have the passenger door lock changed as it never locked (and upon investigation, appears to have been fitted with a LHD drivers door lock as the secret manual override did not work - I removed the trim to spot the mechanism was set up for a door handle lock!). This has been fixed by the dealer so all good.

Today there is a rythmic bearing sound from the engine - to me sounds like a cam chain or similar - booked in to the dealer for Moday.

Any ideas if this latter item is reason for more serious concern?

sorry I can't be of assistance with the potential issue you may be facing. What did want to know was ,with the passenger door not locking was this a issue from the time of delivery or did this non locking door issue appear after...

We suspect the door wasn't operating from day one; how often do you check the pasenger door locks correctly when using the central locking?

I believe there is a recall out on these cars for the cam adjuster.

Note that you have a timing belt also.
