    Yeah I can concur, I finally had and engine replacement done and so far so good, oil hasn't moved after 2000kms... and then something new, a louder ticking noise when idling akin to a diesel engine coming from the dashboard right behind the gauges and the right a/c vent... w.t.fish

    That's why I've kept on blowing my horn for people to buy either the 66TDI or 77TSI...the 1.4 twin charge motors are lemon orchards at best.

    Sad to hear another Polo GTI owner biting the dust. Agree on the above, the 77TSI is surprisingly punchy and can be comfortably tuned out to 100 odd kW.. or if you need more, buy a second hand Mk6 GTI for similar dollars without the headaches. Even in manual if that's your thing.

    just to put something positive into this thread

    i have had my MY13.5 since july last year and havent had any major issues. for what it is it's a great little car that hasnt let me down.

    will i keep it out of warranty? feck no! (just in case)

    This sounds like a fuel line rattle, i had the same noise and I pushed one of the lines in and it stopped.
