Correct Oil For 2016 VW Polo 81TSI

Hi Everyone,

I am just about to bring my car in for servicing and have chosen to supply my own oil as it's a $60.00 saving if I do.
I am based in Sydney Australia if that matters and our cars are serviced every 15000KM or 12 months

I have 2 choices to use, Which one would be more suitable.

Either if its a petrol The first is certified for Diesel as well. Is what I use in both cars but is more expensive than no 2 so just buy that.

The other oil that is also very good quality, Australian made and readily available at Supercheap / Repco etc is Penrite Enviro+ 5w-30 Penrite Enviro+ Engine Oil - 5W-30 5 Litre | Supercheap Auto . Personally i use the Penrite oil in both my cars, but either brand will be good.

Out of the two the prices are only $5 different in the favour of no 2

Enviro+ is $82 RRP but all can be had on special days cheaper I use Enviro+ but buy it when on specail for about $65 and save it up I prefer to stick to the one oil for both because its easier and stealers charge a premium at service. Prof III which they use is $93 at parts and $118 in a service where I used to go. Always provided my own for last 7 years

Its up to you but no 2 is rated for petrol engines by VW

I'm not sure why you say you have 2 choices. Any VW502.00 spec oil meets the guidelines for 15k/12m service intervals. Any VW504.00 spec oil exceeds those requirements. There are dozens to choose from.

There maybe dozens to choose from but a sensible person uses an APPROVED oil which cuts down your choices dramatically
Any of the 3 mentioned are suitable and only depends on what you want to pay. Yes there are others but out of them all these are probably the pick of them

Based on your 12 month / 15,000k service interval the A3 oil is the correct (and more economical) choice. I use the Edge A3 in mine.

My servicer recommends the HiTech oil in my 77TSI, has remapped ecu too, so about 90TSI equivalent.
Seems to work well, is 2011 model, still working perfectly.
I also recommend using ultimate 98 fuel or equivalent.
Fuel more expensive, works out less cost/km & better power/torque, at low revs & when fanging it too.
Even at 60 kph, I still get reasonable response in 6th gear.
I just use on road, not racetrack, but being in the NT, I can drive slow or fast when I like to, compared to you poor overpoliced southerners.

Most of us prefer to use what VW recommends. Might make a difference if engine blows and VW dont want to know you if wrong oil used

Could be anything in the wild north LOL
