    Coilovers from the UK

    Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a set of KW V2 coilovers. I've discovered that I can save some coin and pick it up through family in the UK.

My question is: Are there any negatives to buying coilovers from oversea when they are the same product here?

I know that some companies do local R&D for our market and have special branches that focus on this. The only thing is that KW only have dealers, no official R&D sector (from what I can find) focused on Australia.

The only thing I'm really worried about is the warranty and if it is void if I get the coilovers out of the UK.

I'm interested to hear other people's opinion on the matter as I think this is a bit of a grey area.

The Australia dealers won't deal with you on warranty claims. You didn't buy through them, so I can see why. Personally I have bought from the UK plenty of times and had no problems.

Also, you are likely to find it cheaper to just order from the UK and pay the shipping. You'll save the VAT, a UK company would probably need to prove the kit left, airwaybill etc to knock the VAT off for you.

I bought mine through dpmperformance.co.uk and it was piss easy. they even wrote the invoice for under 1k for me so I didn't have to pay import fees.

It is a gamble mate but KW are a good brand, no problems with mine. If you want piece of mind, buy local.

    Thanks Gavin.

I was semi aware of the local warranty issues and the VAT, but hopefully because I'm buying a top end product will mean I won't have an issue.

DPMperformance is the place to go. Bought off him several times.

I take your warranty stance too.
