How about this Polo GTI competitor? PEUGEOT 208 GTI CONCEPT
Powered by the 200hp 1.6 turbo from the top-of-the-range RCZ and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the little 208 GTi also gets a 36mm wider track.
not normally a fan of Mercs, but i'll take this over the Polo anyday

I will still pick the Merc pending pricing model
The current Polo/Golf GTi stand no chance against the new BMW 1 series and the soon to be released MB A Class. I wouldn't even bother about the new Peugeot 208 GTi.
If its as good as the last GTI they did, it will be laughed out of existence again. Speaking from direct experience here (one outside as I write this) the brake pedal will have no feel and be fully on with no progression when you press it, the steering will have no feel and the ratio will not match what the wheels are doing, the suspension will crash, you will have rear scuttle-shake on rough roads, poor ergonomics, you will sit on an angle to the steering wheel and be slower than every other warm hatch on the market
Stage 2+ Intercooler Carbon Intake Downpipe Swaybar DV+ Remsa.
i said this in the other thread, but the 2009 a180 waas 48k RRP.
this a250 is meant to be superior in every way. you really reckon it's gonna be within throwing distance of golf gti prices, even though the previous model piece of isht was 9k more, two years ago?
nah man. a250 - whatever the retail will be, there will be plenty sitting in front of merc dealerships with "only $65k driveaway".
