The dampers in polo are absolute rubbish. The barely control the spring oscilations.
You are better off changing the dampers to Koni or Bilstein.
As a DIY you need the spreader for the hub joint and the correct tool to undo the top nut of the strut.
You need to be a bit imaginative if you don't want to undo the drive shaft bolts.
The rears are a doddle and take about 15m per side. The fronts take about an hour per side.
You can do the dampers & leave the existing springs in and it will transform the car. If you do just the springs on the existing dampers it will be even more over-sprung / under-damped.

Hmm never thought of that. Thanks for the idea. I'll check prices but I have found a full set of gti springs and shocks for a very good price in which I will end up getting. Unless the price for the shocks are at the same price
