OOPs! I opened a big can of worms there.
I just wondered if anyone knew where the hidden screw or clip was to remove the rest.
Guess I'll just have to get used to it. Its not that bad, & I spose it does have its advantages

It's not just a hidden screw, you need to remove the whole centre console as well including gear lever etc to be able to pull it out. Then, after pulled out, you will have a gaping hole in the rear of your console as I don't think anyone has made after-market fill-in pieces yet. Unless you can get one out of a base model trendline polo if they don't have the arm rest as standard....

Removing the centre console will be a b*tch to get out. Think the easiest is just to lift it up if it in your way.
