Yeah, it's a love hate relationship for me, love the comfort of the armrest but hate the fact that you have to raise it to lock the seat belts![]()
I have had my new polo 77 tsi for a week now, great car except for a few annoying things.
For the centre armrest is useless & just gets in the way.
Does anyone know how to remove it ?
I will post my other gripes & likes in another thread
Cheers all

Yep i hate it too, stupid design and thank goodness you can move it away.
Both of you are useless then![]()
I find it VERY easy to clip and unclip the seat belt with the armrest down. You just have to figure out how to do it, not that difficult. Same with the handbrake, just use your fingers to pull and release the handbrake
P.S. 6'6" male with no issues using the car and getting in and out of it![]()

Planned - lots, but the "financial manager" says NO
I love it when sitting in traffic / relaxed driving................ but its annoying when i want to use manual mode on the dsg................it also makes it hard to go from "S" to "D" without going straight into "N"![]()

Useless? That's a bit much. I've got spirit fingers.....sorry, stubby fingers, why should I suffer because of a design flaw? Yes, I can handle the handbrake lever, its just the seat belt locking that's the problem. Glad to know that there are gymnast and contortionists driving cars. And before you go on and on...it is a design flaw..just accept it, and I am not going to have lypo suction on my fingers. I have owned many cars with arm rests without this unique feature...Still a great car though

Pah, you're all sooks and as a designer, I don't think it's a design flaw and it's far better than the first Mk4 golf armrest which the handbrake actually hits but still, in my mind, who cares?!Sure, it could have been done better but that's why industrial designers don't like accountants
Trust me, once you remove it, you are going to wish you have it the first time you're stuck in traffic or have a long, boring drive.... Trust me![]()

Ahhmm...the original premise that you agreed to WAS that "Both of you are useless then"
