    Capped Price Servicing

A question about Capped Price Servicing, should the oil used and workshop sundries be invoiced separate from the scheduled service? Listed on the Volkswagen website as covered under Capped price servicing are labour, parts, lubricants and sundries such as workshop supplies etc.

No doubt the labour (time taken) to do the service is capped and any "extras" such as oil, disposal of the oil and anything else will be charged separately. Just another example that capped price servicing is no more than a tool for selling new cars....it doesn't actually save the owner anything.

You would be better off taking your car to a Euro specialist and getting a proper service (not a time restricted service by a 1st year apprentice).

    Capped Price Servicing

It's an all inclusive price. My advice, buy your own oil when on special and supply to the dealer. $155 for 5L of oil via a dealer is questionable.

Just don't get it serviced at VW South Yarra. See my post about rough running and the negligent repairs they did.

Sorry to revive an old thread. A quick question to which I think I know the answer..

Wife's mk6 golf (90TSI) is just about to turn 4yrs old but only done 45,000km. I'm assuming the appropriate service would be the 4yr/60,000km service now (as it's either time OR kms)?

*EDIT* Found the answer that it is based on whichever occurs first out of time or distance, as suspected.

    Cheers

Below find the excerpt from terms and conditions.. also read

    https://au.volkswagen.com.au/service...Conditions.pdf

for full guidelines. But don't forget it's only at participating dealers and * this little asterix can be found on a lot of the wording and some times means the price can change without notice ... but as far as I can see below if the capped price service invoice shows oils as extra ? Then your should be able to refund that. If it's listed as part of the service and the invoice total is the capped price service price* then your good to go.

So so here is the excerpt from the terms and conditions -
