Can you mod Polo glasses console to Golfs?

The MY12.5 Polo has a sunglass holder (and change holder) in the glovebox now

It always has had.

So really no one knows if it can be swapped and added. Does anyone here have both a Polo and Golf and can test?

I'll inspect my parents' Golf when I get back from Melbourne in a couple of days. From memory, the Golf's looked a little bigger than the polo.
Bassik, if it's possible, could you please do a little write up of how to take off that bit for holder. Haven't tried pull anything apart from either car yet haha cheers.

Hey Dan,

Yeah no worries, from memory it was the easiest mod yet if it works. I simply took it off at a set of lights (with me nails) top part firest then just it popped out. Here's a pic of what it looks like. This is the Golfs one but they look identical. I can take more pics of mine when I get home this arvo. Would your parents Golf be a Mk6 or Mk5?

Sorry I forgot about this thread haha. I couldn't get the Golf's glasses holder out but I measured them both and the Polo's cover is wider than the Golf's so I don't think we can just swap them over. Also, the mounting clips are different.

I might attempt to pry off the Golf's again another day.
