Buzzing noise while accelerating with dsg

    Hey guys,

Just recently noticed that my car makes a audible buzzing noise when I press the accelerator about 30-70% down. This seems to happen when I try to accelerate from a higher gear than optimal but it is also audible when accelerating hard from a standing start. It is easily produced around the 1500-2500rpm range for me

For example, I was accelerating in 7th at 80km/h at 1750rpm and it was quite audible but when I dropped it down to 6th and it almost disappeared entirely at that rev range. The strange thing is though when I dropped it to 50th while still at 80km/h and then started accelerating, it was almost produced the same amount of noise as in 7th.

If anyone knows what the problem is or how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advanced guys

If you could provide a video or audio clip of the noise, that would be a big help. We'd all just be blindly guessing without hearing the noise first.

7th and 5th gear are on the same shaft so may provide a clue.

Could perhaps be the speaker under the plenum chamber (there's a TPI for this) best to book into your dealer.

I have attempted to take an audio clip for it but I don't have the equipment capable of picking up the sound with the sound of the exhaust and engine at the same time. I will probably book it in to see what they say about it though. It doesn't seem to affect performance that I can notice but it is quite annoying to hear sometimes.

Just thought I'd update you guys about the issue,

Took it to the dealers and they said it was an issue with the sound board under the wipers which is causing the vibration and noise. It took them just shy of 4 hours to call me back after dropping off the car.
