    Angry Broken Centre Console Latch....

Hi everyone, so as the title describes the inevitable has happened.... I have had a quick google/ebay to find a replacement. Has anyone had their latch break and replaced it? To be honest I want to change the lid to leather trimmed anyway. Any suggestions of a replacement that someone has used? Or has one for sale......

Hey mate .... The latch is very flimsy and yes is prone to breaking, ebay has heaps of replacments for little to no money and even volkswagen sells them for $10 or less dont quote me on the price but i picked one up about a year ago for that price, was very common on my VW Bora , I believe the mk4 centre console with the black leather trim will fit perfectly into this space as it is the same dimensions and identical

    cheers

You wouldn't still have the part number for that by chance?

I bought one from these guys VW Armrest Lid | Volkswagen Replacement parts and it fitted perfectly, works great. Don't buy a crappy ebay one, I've seen them up close and most are made very poorly. The ones I've linked to are their own upgraded design that are stronger where they need to be. Surface finish and colour are as good as OEM.

Guys, I purchased one of those replacement latches from fixmyvw for the fiances Polo GTi - It fits and works perfectly. Not only is it free shipping from the US, but they have a lifetime warranty. All credit goes to DETROITCANDY for the awesome find.

Works out to be around AUD21 posted with paypals exchange rate.
Shipping is via USPS, tracked. Took 6 days to get here. Super easy to install, anyone can do this.

If you are worried about its quality or robustness, just watch this video.

Couple of photos to show the finish, not that it really matter, its a clip that won't break.
