Are you talking about distance impulse? Can't see how that could have any bearing on it. But if you changed something change it back to stock to rule it out.
Remote learning takes 2 seconds once BCM is installed and coding is copied over.

Thanks for that I guess they would know how to do that as they do performance upgrades all the time. They have an R36 and an Audi coupe with what looks like a retractable rear wing on it in there today

Have reset all alterations done since new and still has the fault so off to the doctor.

Question If i buy that BCM off Ebay which is identical will it work with the software in IT or does mine need to be copied to it and then obviously in both cases immobilizer and remotes need to be paired

BCM does not have immo in it.
Just copy the long coding over and relearn remotes.

Got it fixed Bought that BCM, had coding reset to factory and after a couple of hiccups all is good

With doing it this way I saved $500 over VW estimated cost.

Now have found bootlight switch in the lock doesnt work so a Chinese one on the way for $23 VW Want $140. Glad to say its being sold soon and replaced by a Kamiq But is first problem in 10 years so cant growl too much.

Just found out they havent recoded the remotes I did what it said to in the manual but it doesnt work so what other way is there?????

Have got them fixed VW software wouldnt do them and it took an hour with VCDS but he said now hes worked it out wont take so long if he gets another one.

Now just needs a boot lock as bootlight still doesnt work
