    Bluetooth OBD2 Readers for Polo

Hey all, looking to retrieve a bit more data from my polo GTI and was wondering if there was anything tricky pulled by VW which would stop me using a standard OBD2 Bluetooth adaptor?
And finally if there was a recommended one at all? I would be using it with an Android phone.
I'm assuming there's no warranty implications as I'm not changing anything

    Hey Millsy,

I have the following one in my Mitsubishi Pajero and it works really well with the Torque App.

Mini Auto Car V1.5 ELM327 OBD2 ODBII Bluetooth CAN BUS Scanner Tool ANDROID | eBay

Im yet to pickup my gti so cant confirm it works in that yet, but I really cant see why it wouldn't. After all its only reading information from the ECU and displaying it on your phone.

    Good luck with it.

    I have this one:

VGATE iCar 2 OBD2 OBDII WIFI Car Diagnostic Scan Tool iPhone iPad Android Black | eBay

I tried it out last night and it worked well with my Carista app. I will warn you that they are SLOW, it took around 5 minutes to do a basic scan of the car and then around 15-20 minutes to do a full detailed scan (retrieves all modules, versions and any fault codes, example of my car ECU info obtained with Carista 3.3 for Android: VIN: WVWZZZ6RZFY223940 CAN - Pastebin.com)

Carista also allows you to change any of the settings of the car that are simple on off.

That said, the bluetooth adapters are slow but they work. Obviously not remotely close to VCDS but still works

    Hi SloAu,

Do you have one of these yourself? If so have you done any coding with it? Or just changing basic settings?
