Best price / quality xenon option for polo 6r?

    Greetings

I am thinking about enhancing my head lights — they really dont meet expectations, so i was thinking about upgrading regular halogen headlights to xenon. Rumor has it that you should never install anything that isnt "original" but in our country dealer wants like 2k+ euro for xenon package which, sadly, i cant rly afford now.

What are the alternatives? Get smth used from ebay or?
I dont want to be the guy who dazzle everyone with cheap chinese xenon either ofc, just want something more affordable.

    Hi Lieto,

Unfortunately being an AUstralian based forum, a lot of our information probably won't apply to you and your laws over there in the Ukraine. WHat I can offer you though, is this bit of advice.

Any after-market Xenon kit that you install into standard, reflector headlight will dazzle and blind your fellow road users because the headlight was never designed to handle a xenon globe, so the light will just get shone where it wants to. Unless you re-aim your standard headlights to be kind, then I'd say just look for better halogen globes because to be kind with your re-aiming, you will lose most of the benefit of the xenon lights.

You can buy after-market projector-lens headlights, Kufatec even sells the whole conversion kit including the levelers etc if you know someone who can code the lights in using VAGCOM.

The best option though would be factory, but at the price you are talking, I wouldn't bother....

Obviously lenses is a must. Was thinking maybe there is something i can get form ebay for example. Cant imagine there are no alternatives. Will check out Kufatec ty.

Could you not buy "aftermarket" options from the OEM manufacturer of your headlights? Not sure about your car but for Golf V you could buy the OEM Xenons with cornering lights etc from Hella for about $700USD.

Non-OEM aftermarket headlights are definitely out there, but you have to be careful and do your research - at the end of the day it's not the looks but the projectors in the lights that will be the most important for HIDs, and some headlights, though they have projectors, do not have the proper cut-off for HIDs.

If you don't mind opening your headlights and fiddling with them, the cheapest option with the best results would be to retrofit proper projectors in them - see this:

If your country has restrictions regarding levelling motors / washers though, you might want to take that into account. The safest bet would be to find that OEM manufacturer.
